The National Council of the Slovak Republic passed the Act no. 215/2002 Coll. on Electronic Signature and on the amendment and supplementing of certain acts (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”) in 15th March 2002. This Act regulates relationships related to electronic signature creation and usage, the rights and obligations of corporate entities and individuals in the electronic signature usage, trustworthiness and protection of the electronic documents signed by the electronic signature. The Act came into force in 1st September 2002. It comes out from the Directive of European Union no. 1999/93/EC in December 1999.
The National Security Authority (hereinafter referred to as “the NSA”) is the central body of the state administration for the electronic signature.
