NSA Director

Mr. František Blanárik was born on 21 September 1952 in Šahy in the Slovak Republic. He is a Vyškov Military College graduate. In 1987, he received his Postgraduate degree from Combat Support Services and Transportation Academy in Petrograd (Russian Federation). In 1997, Mr. Blanárik completed Higher Academic Course at Military Academy in Liptovský Mikuláš and was promoted to the rank of Major-General. From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Blanárik was fulfilling the tasks of the Director General of Defense and Security Section at the Office of the Government of the Slovak Republic and the Secretary of the State Defense Council. From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Blanárik was assuming the position of the Central Secretary of HZDS political party (elected function).

Mr. Blanárik was appointed to the position of the Director of National Security Authority by the Slovak National Council on 16 September 2006.
